People love to play a poker bonus freeroll – Even if they lose the hand it doesn’t matter too much, so long as they know when they’re in an awkward spot making bad decisions with marginal hands (which is what most people would have done when they first started learning the game). The problem is that when you’re on tilt, it can be difficult to recognize for quite some time (a few days of play afterward and about half the bankroll sometimes…)

If you mention the history of poker to poker players, you’re bound to open up a debate with many differing opinions. Even the name poker, origins are shrouded in mystery. It’s most likely descended from the French word poque which itself is comes from the German word pochen (to knock), but it’s not very clear if the games bearing those names are the origins of poker. Initially poker was played with just one round of betting. Five cards were dealt face down to each player and there was no drawing of cards. The rules where later tailored by professional gamblers to raise the profitably of the game. Sometime after 1850 it became common practice to have wild cards and bluffing in games and around the same time drawing cards was introduced.

“Horse Racing & the Triple Crown”

Author: J. Scott Miller

How did I turn $220 into $36,000? I have been betting on horses (Among other things) most of my adult life, which may lead you to believe that I have not grown up yet. The truth hurts, but betting on the Kentucky Derby can be very rewarding to say the least.

What I have had with lately is making combo bets in the Derby. I will take the top two favorites and bet them in exacta, trifecta and superfecta wagers.

What is an “Exacta?” An exacta bet is when you place and win a bet on the first and second place finishers. Obviously, the higher the odds of the horses, the higher the payout. A “trifecta” is when you choose the first, second and third place finishers in correct order. And the grand-daddy is the “superfecta,” which is choosing the first, second, third and fourth horses in correct order.

The domain names of three of the largest online poker rooms that accept U.S. players have been seized by the FBI and shut down in the U.S., several sources are reporting.

As of Friday, April 15, PokerStars.com, FullTiltPoker.com, UB.com and Absolute Poker (both part of the CEREUS network) are now off-limits to visitors from the United States.

The Department of Justice, working through the FBI, was behind the seizure. Those U.S. visitors attempting to reach these sites now, instead, are treated to a message from the FBI explaining the situation:

“This domain name has been seized by the F.B.I. pursuant to an Arrest Warrant in Rem

obtained by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York and issued by the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York,” the message reads.

“Getting to know Sports Wagering”

I have been betting on sports most of my adult life. I have seen “The good, the bad and the VERY ugly,” when it comes to betting on sports. Unless you are a professional gambler (Very few of those), and I will bet you are not, then you need to admit to yourself that you bet on sports for the “fun of it.” I am not suggesting that you are betting for the fun of losing, but merely saying that you are betting to win on occasion. So if you want to bet on sports to win more frequently, then listen up.
